Application of diamond-like coatings to casting forms and molds, various stamps, punches and dies for manufacturing products significantly increases the service life of these tools due to a reduction of friction and poor adhesion of the processed material to the punch or die. It also helps to improve the quality of the articles being manufactured using this method. This feature of diamond-like coatings is especially important for treating the surfaces of dies and molds for manufacturing various types of products from polymeric materials. Backing materials used in this case do not adhere to the mold, and high strength and hardness of the coating effectively protects the working surface.
On the other hand application of the coating to the cutting elements of industrial equipment (industrial shear blades) can improve their efficiency when working with viscous materials such as paper (printing production), dough (bakery products), and various polymeric materials.
